Walter Reed: Privatization Caused the Problems? What a Load of BS!
As MM points out, the latest line of BS from the socialized medicine crowd is that the problems at Walter Reed are actually the result of that most heinous of all crimes, “privatization.” And even worse, the facility awarded a contract to a company whose staff includes a former employee of (gasp) Halliburton.Come on guys, you really must do better than this. The notion that WR’s problems are somehow rooted in the decision to hire a couple of private firms for facilities management and guard duty is ridiculous. It’s even dumber than the shrill yammering about how WR isn’t technically a VA hospital.Face it—the problem with Walter Reed is the same old bureaucratic inefficiency that characterizes all government-run enterprises. This is one of those stubborn facts that won’t go away, no matter how many ad hominem attacks, red herrings, and straw men you guys deploy.
