When Salon.com published the story about "wounded" soldiers being sent back to Iraq, my wife and I laughed about how we had both predicted this. Now, all in servicemember has to do to get Congress, the media, and the watchdogs to jump to their side is claim to be a mistreated wounded soldier. The media repeats the initial claim without any fact checking and the military cannot comment on any specifics without violating HIPAA. It makes for an almost perfect way to get out of being deployed.

There may be some servicemembers that are ailing enough not to be redeployed but there are probably many short-timers who are going to exagerate claims to keep from being deployed.

Yep. Our friends in the “news” media are all too anxious to print/broadcast anything that appears scandalous. It doesn’t really matter to them if it is accurate or not.

When WRAIR moved to Forest Glen, the original plan was for a private company to lease the building from the government, refurbish the building, and then lease it back to the government. The program is called a Public-Private partnership. It took the government a couple of

When the Georgia Avenue campus was BRAC'ed, it made no sense to follow through with the plan. So the building has been sitting empty.

I am afraid that all of the activist have figured out that all they have to do is make an accusation about either Walter Reed or military medicine and the media will report it without question.
