For those of us who remember the secret deliberations over which her majesty presided prior to the 1994 implosion of Hillarycare, the latest demonstration of Hillary’s contempt for the press and the public is no surprise. It is, nonetheless, a useful object lesson in the sort of creature we’re dealing with here, and how she is likely to manage Hillarycare II. Kim Priestap, over at wizbang, asks the following question:
So we’re supposed to just take her word for it that her record as first lady illustrates how she is qualified to be president?
One of the things she wants us to “take her word” on is that her experience with her failed health care plan has taught her valuable lessons. It would appear, however, that she does not want her machinations relating to Hillarycare made public either. As the LA Times puts it:
In the healthcare documents, at least 1,000 pages involving her work has been censored by archives staff …
Health care reform is obviously a core justification for Hillary’s presidential run. She has threatened promised to make it one of her highest priorities if the voters are dumb smart enough to make her Czarina President. Let’s hope the electorate understands the implications of her censorship.
Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see if all of the people who have lamented the allegedly unprecedented secrecy of the Bush Administration will be similarly distressed over her majesty’s determination to give us the mushroom treatment.
