Health Care BS

I just stumbled across this excellent post about “CastroCare.� It’s author does a great job of summarizing the questions that should be asked of anyone still clueless enough to think Cuban health care is “free�:

Would you trade your right to sue a doctor for free healthcare?

Would you take a 96% pay cut in order to have free healthcare?

Would you give up ALL your first amendment rights in order to get a “free� appendectomy?

Would you let the state choose your vocation for a few “free� fillings?

Would you give up your right to travel freely to the destination of your choice for “free� checkups?

Would you give up your right to go to a supermarket and buy whatever food you wanted and could afford for the rationed cards that go along with CastroCare?

The advocates of socialized medicine are anxious to make spurious comparisons between U.S. health care and that of Cuba, but they never want to discuss the real price that Castro’s subjects pay for their “free� care.

That no sane person would answer any of the above questions in the affirmative explains their reticence.
