If you alone are writing off up to $10 million a year then that's symptomatic of a large problem. Perhaps you can tell us what the main reasons/trends you are seeing for the shortfall in your case. Why, for example, are these 'deserving' patients not covered by Medicare/aid.

I don't think I ever said there were NO struggling families, Marc. What I have said is that the number has been greatly exaggerated and that government-run health care is not the solution to that problem.

'My job at the hospital often puts me face-to-face with REAL struggling families (not the bogus kind discussed above). I authorize $5 to $10 million a year in charity write-offs for DESERVING patients.'

At last! An admission that there are many people struggling with medical care in the US. It took a while, but we got there in the end.

I wonder if you’d have the balls to come talk to a struggling family face to face.

In other words, I LIVE IT while you (and other sanctimonious windbags) merely blow a lot of hot air.

Indeed, I don't believe a single word of the silly BS that you are spewing. You are clearly nothing more than a corporate shill. I wonder if you'd have the balls to come talk to a struggling family face to face and tell them that you don't think that their children deserve affordable health care.

Well, the fact that you're telling lies about them and then putting the word struggling in quotes is a bit of a smear job if you ask me. But hey, what to the trials and tribulations of working families matter to a corporate shill?

Jason, perhaps you'd be good enough to tell me which part of my post "smears" this "stuggling" family.

Wow, how classy of you to smear a struggling family! You must be one of those compassionate conservatives.

Yes, it's a particularly nasty attack. As this guy says:

http://allspinzone.com/wp/2007/10/08/schip-and-the-right-wing-swiftboating-of-graeme-frost-can-the-snakes-slither-any-lower/

'But again, rather than debate the merits (or lack thereof) of their arguments against SCHIP, the GOP and their rabid attack dogs choose to go after a working class family that’s trying to get by on a day-to-day basis. Rather than praise Graeme and his sister for their courage in recovering from debilitating injuries, the sewage spewers of the right wing choose to attempt to destroy an entire family. Rather than admit that sometimes the safety nets such as CHIP are necessary to keep hard working families out of a disastrous personal situation, the right wing troglodytes would rather demonize those families as leeches and gamers. After all, it’s so much easier to destroy a poster-family than to intellectually defend a morally bankrupt policy.'
