If you alone are writing off up to $10 million a year then that’s symptomatic of a large problem. Perhaps you can tell us what the main reasons/trends you are seeing for the shortfall in your case. Why, for example, are these ‘deserving’ patients not covered by Medicare/aid.

I don’t think I ever said there were NO struggling families, Marc. What I have said is that the number has been greatly exaggerated and that government-run health care is not the solution to that problem.

My job at the hospital often puts me face-to-face with REAL struggling families (not the bogus kind discussed above). I authorize $5 to $10 million a year in charity write-offs for DESERVING patients.
