The House of Representatives has failed to override Bush’s veto of the fraudulent SCHIP bill. AP reports that the pro-override forces fell more than a dozen votes short:
The 273-156 roll call was 13 votes short of the two-thirds that majority supporters needed to enact the bill into law over Bush’s objections.
Now, maybe Nancy Pelosi and her accomplices will stop playing games with the health of low-income kids and work with the Bush administration to put together serious SCHIP legislation:
Bush … has assigned three top advisers to try to negotiate a new deal with Congress. One of them, Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt said: “It’s now time for us to get to the hard work of finding a solution and get SCHIP reauthorized.”
And, BTW, if Bush is a lame duck with no power, how does he manage to kick so much Democrat butt? This is the third major bill on which he has slamdunked them just this week.

Posted 18 Oct 2007 at 2:39 pm ¶You seem to be a little tense, Mr. Zipp. Having a bad day?
Posted 18 Oct 2007 at 2:45 pm ¶Mr Zipp illustrates typical liberal behavior. They can’t win the argument, so they result to name calling. Hey Catron, love the blog keep up the great work!!!!
Posted 18 Oct 2007 at 3:50 pm ¶wow?
Posted 18 Oct 2007 at 5:04 pm ¶I guess to Zipp all of us who earn a living and choose to buy health insurance instead of spending our money on luxury items are “rich assholes.”
I am willing to bet that most of the people that this new bill wants to cover own or are buying on time, many items that could have been out off in order to buy health insurance.
The military is always recruiting and they offer health care coverage.

I’m guessing you never dealt with TriCare.

BTW, I had a similar poster like Zipp. Instead of factually pointing out my errors, he just insulted me.
But when your leadership ignores the facts….
