		<description>This issue is nowhere close to "finished."  The SCHIP debate has actually been incredibly helpful to children because it has forced folks to be clear about their priorities.  Contrary to your talking points, however, the debate was also wildly successful politically even if the program has not yet been reauthorized:

*  Republican and Democrats in the Senate secured repeated veto-proof margins in support of a strong SCHIP reauthorization.  
*   The House voted 2 to 1 to ensure that millions of children receive health insurance.
*   In an unusual bipartisan letter to Congress, 43 governors called for a strong reauthorization of SCHIP.
It's pretty clear that folks who oppose children will lose in the long run: SCHIP will be reauthorized, it is just a question of when and by whom.</description>
