Panda Bear, MD must have incredibly strong metacarpals. His posts make my hands hurt just reading them. And, unlike most long blog posts, his effusions usually remain coherent from beginning to end. Here’s his take on what government can do to improve health care:
It would be a simpler, cheaper, and, as our country is terrifically overdoctored and overmedicated, probably not even detrimental to the aggregate health of our nation if the government withdrew from as much of the medical industry as possible …
He doesn’t, however, think there is no role whatsoever for government in health care:
If the government has to be involved, and as most of us agree that a major illness or two will wipe out most people, it can guarantee the solvency of high deductible, major medical policies that citizens would be expected to buy for themselves and their families.
Smart guy. I wish more people had Panda’s clarity of vision.

Yes, the must read columns of Panda Bear are amazingly eloquent, hard core, evidence based, insightful, and (above all) funny-true.
I suspect Panda Bear would be pleased with MSAs, Medical Savings Accounts, although he is unclear as to reform specifics.
