MICHELLE OBAMA WORKS AT A HOSPITAL?

Well, sort of. She’s employed at University of Chicago Hospitals. But, as Mark Steyn points out, she’s not involved in patient care:

She’s a lawyer who was taken on by the hospitals in 2002 to run ‘programs for community relations, neighborhood outreach, volunteer recruitment, staff diversity, and minority contracting.’

Oh dear. Anyone who has ever worked for a hospital will tell you this is a classic bureaucratic money pit. And it gets worse:

In 2005, she got a $200,000 pay raise and was appointed Vice President for Community and External Affairs and put in chage of the hospital’s business diversity program.

This place obviously has money to burn. I guess  University of Chicago Hospitals is one of those rich not-for-profits.

Well, more power to them, and to Mrs. Obama.

Make up your mind - either these hospitals have a lot of cash or they don’t.

There was a giant stinking “earmark” (cash payment) from Obama to this hospital in the federal budget.

Silence. Sound of crickets chirping. Total absence of media investigation.

Rich, the evidence I see is that the there are two main factors why your healthcare is so expensive - high salaries and high fees. In other words, just your ‘market’ working to cater for the well off.

Slightly off-topic, but speaking of Obama David, did you see that Michael Moore endorsed him yesterday?

Makes sense given their mutual love for government run health care.

    Sheesh.

Michelle is a sanctimonious human being. She is the acme of liberalism. If she were a white male, she’d be banned from our polite (liberal) society as a bigot, due to her racial polarizing views.

Again, those who are lossing the race will try to twist anything of the opponents to match thier distorted view. Hospital emergency rooms across this country are being overwhelmed by uninsured for minor, routine complaints. No hospital in this country can, by law , turn away a patient. All who enter the ER lobby have to be seen and asscessed by an RN, then seen and diagnosed by a MD or PA, then treated and stabilized before discharge or transfer. This is the universal standard across this country.
What Mrs. Obama is doing is starting a common program to assist those without insurance to visit a local clinic or Dr.s office for non emergency complaints. What she is trying to do is to steer the colds, stomach viruses away from the ER so after your heart attack or auto injury, you will be seen in less than 15-30 min.s, not 6-8 hours.
I can accept different points of view, however i can’t stand mean spirited ignorance of an issue.
