OBAMA: WHAT A TRIMMER!

Barack Obama has decided to resign from Trinity United Church of Christ. It’s been an “interesting” association:

When Obama came to Chicago his religious devotion was spotty. His family was not devout.

But then he got involved in politics:

As Obama began his work as a community organizer on the city’s South Side he became acquainted with the leaders of neighborhoods. And they were often preachers. Obama tells a story of how he was admonished once that if he wanted to be effective with churchgoers in his adopted city, he might do well to join one of those churches.

So, he joined Trinity United Church of Christ:

The Trinity Church was the place Obama called his religious home. A place where he was married. Where his children were baptized.

But, hey, what are these things when political expediency is involved?

It had to have been a painful decision … but the church had become a weapon for his political enemies.

In other words, Obama joined the church for political reasons, and he has now resigned for political reasons.

Curt at Flopping Aces points out that this is causing some supporters to wonder what else Obama is willing to throw over the side:

What worries me is this: Can we expect a President Obama to cave in to the whims and will of the right on policies and issues he knows are important … Can we expect him to genuflect to negative reports by an uninformed, misinformed or ill-willed media?  Is the candidate of change willing to go-along in a willy-nilly get-along fashion?

I think the obvious answer is YES. Barack Obama is a transparent opportunist who believes in very little beyond his own entitlement to wealth and power.

This also applies to most every national player in politics, or, as Larry Flynt calls it, “Hollywood for ugly people”.
