If he was truly termed due to his condition, I would look into possible legal action under HIPAA.

I really love checking out sites like this - wealthy white guys in the healthcare business telling lower-class guys like me what's best for me.

Two summers ago, my brother required surgery to change out his pacemaker. However, he had been let go by his company several weeks before due to "downsizing". Naturally, he was the only one "downsized" - in reality, he had been costing them an arm and a leg in insurance premiums due to his heart condition.

What would you have done? Ah wait, I forgot....a clear-thinking, "compassionate conservative" like yourself would have let him die, all the while assuring me "if you can't afford it, you can't have it. Sorry."

Even now, with another job and coverage, they still will not cover his surgery (pre-existing condition and all). Every day, I live with the fear that I could lose him in the middle of the night. What's your solution, Catron?

Talk about a skewed question - this is another silly poll. Of course, when it comes to universal healthcare most Americans are in favour –

'A vast majority of people in the United States voice support for a universal health care system, according to a poll by Opinion Research Corporation released by CNN. 64 per cent of respondents think the government should provide a national health insurance program for all citizens, even if it leads to higher taxes.'
