John McCain has finally pointed out what should be obvious to anyone with a rudimentary understanding of economics:
Small businesses are the job engine of America, and I will make it easier for them to grow and create more jobs … my opponent wants to make it harder by imposing a ‘pay or play’ health mandate on small business.
Obamacare contains a provision requiring businesses to make a ”meaningful contribution” toward the cost of employee health coverage or cough up a penalty to the feds lieu of that “contribution.”
McCain correctly points out that Obamacare will add about $12,000 to the cost of employing anyone with a family. And he clearly elucidates the consequences of that mandate:
That means new jobs will not be created … It means existing employees will have their wages cut to pay for this mandate.
I’m glad McCain is going on the offensive with this. The voters need to know what Obama and his accomplices in Congress are going to do to them if they are foolish enough to put the Illinois Senator in the White House.
