The other day, I wrote a post about the phony inquiry being staged by Alaska Democrats concerning Governor Palin’s sacking of recalcitrant underling Walt Monegan.
For anyone doubting that this whole ”investigation” is a partisan scam cooked up by a bunch of good-old-boy political hacks, here’s a smoking gun from the Obama-Biden campaign web site:
The man overseeing the “investigation,” Sen. Hollis French, is the bald guy near the back (fifth from left, by the Obama ‘08 posters). Any doubts about this hack’s objectivity yet?
Well, it gets better. Last week, for obvious reasons, Rep. John Coghill asked the Alaska Legislative Council to remove French from the probe. Coghill’s request was rejected:
On Monday, the head of the Legislative Council turned down his request. Democratic Sen. Kim Elton responded that he is sure that partisan politics can be kept out of the probe.
You know what’s coming, right? Senator Elton is also in the picture. He’s the tall bearded guy on the far left (ahem) of the photo. His Alaska State Legislature web page can be found here.
So, there it is. The guy overseeing the troopergate ”investigation” and the man charged with keeping him honest are both proud Obama partisans. If ever there was a put up job, folks, this is it.
Meanwhile, just in case French and Elton need some help ginning up October surprises, the Dems have sent a small army of oppo research creeps to drill for dirt. What could make anyone vote for such people?
UPDATE I:
Even Mike Gravel understands that troopergate is a sham. Hot Air has a video/audio of him saying what every honest observer in possession of the facts has said:
“Troopergate” is going to come out in [Palin’s] favor … This trooper should have been fired … This is a guy that shouldn’t be wearing a badge, not when he threatens people’s lives. … Did they have to wait ’til he killed somebody before they got rid of him?
Good Question.
UPDATE II:
In their zeal to plumb the depths of this phony scandal, the MSM has finally noticed the child abuse angle. But I don’t mean the incident in which Wooten tasered his stepson. The media have no interest in that. These ”journalists” are breathlessly “reporting” about “child abuse” by Palin.
UPDATE III:
Michael Reagan explains why the troopergate faux scandal will not bring home the bacon for the media or the Obama campaign:
Try as they may to make a mountain over the so-called “troopergate” molehill, for example, they will have a hard time explaining why it would be wrong to want to see a four-times married and divorced law enforcement officer kept on the job when he had tasered his 11-year-old stepson, illegally shot a moose, drank beer in his patrol car on one occasion, and told others his father-in-law would “eat a f’ing lead bullet”
Here’s hoping he’s right.

Reading any history on this “witch hunt,” it is obvious that it is just another Democrat ploy to trump up an investigation to make another Republican look bad, regardless of outcome.
They have been pulling this ever since Bush was elected, while hiding their own massive corruption from the public.
I invite all to research and read up on the Russian Bolshevik Revolution and see the similarities.

Are you saying the GOP folk aren’t doing the same? Anyway, what’s this got to do with healthcare?
Posted 10 Sep 2008 at 6:24 am ¶“What’s this got to do with healthcare?”
The outcome of the November election will profundly effect the future of health care in this country (see my AmSpec article comparing the McCain & Obama plans).
Thus, the success or failure of this phony investigation has a great deal “to do with health care.”

Are you *really* claiming that McCain doesn’t employ his own so-called researchers? Do you really believe he doesn’t have a team of staffers working virtually around the clock dedicated to this singular purpose?
Posted 10 Sep 2008 at 9:49 am ¶Um, the difference is, Obama presents himself as a new, post-partisan, holier-than-thou, politician. For him to send a squad of jackals to dig for dirt on Palin shows that he’s just another Democrat thug.
Posted 10 Sep 2008 at 2:21 pm ¶Your timeline fouls up your conspiracy theory. Repubs and McCain have made a big deal about how they kept their pick secret until about August 28, 2008. The investigation against Palin began weeks (or longer) before that. How did these “evil” Dems know that far in advance that Palin would be the pick? Get back to me when you figure that one out.
Posted 10 Sep 2008 at 2:39 pm ¶V the K,
I’m generally leery of anyone who rubs their supposed virtues in my face, like politicians, used car salesmen, preachers, etc. So, yeah, I’m always skeptical of any politician who excessively purports to be above the fray. Obama clearly falls into this category. But, in fairness this same intellectual scrutiny also applies to that so-called maverick.
For the record, I do think that McCain is the better man for the job. While I disagree with him on a few things, he seems to have a measure of integrity and his track record of public service is laudable. I just don’t enjoy all this “it’s freedom fighting when we do it, but terrorism when the other side does it” stuff.
Cheers,
Joe
Posted 10 Sep 2008 at 2:56 pm ¶Marc, when has the McCain campaign or the GOP dug for dirt on Obama? All of Obama’s dirt: Rev Wright, Ayers, Rezko, etc. was done by conservative bloggers and talk radio. Team McCain and the GOP didn’t do it and Obama’s liberal media buddies damn sure didn’t look for dirt on Obama either.
Posted 10 Sep 2008 at 5:01 pm ¶Jay - Try this: the “investigation” was started for partisan reasons related to Alaska politics and now has additional partisan value because of Palin’s vice presidential candidacy. (The post does not claim that the “probe” was started because she was chosen to run for VP, just that its moving spirits are partisans, as evidenced by the photo.)
Can you figure that out, buddy?

Posted 10 Sep 2008 at 11:22 pm ¶Why are you focusing more on petty junk like this than talking about issues! I want to hear about where these candidates spend on the issues. I don’t even like Obama all that much. But McCain, Palin, and the Republican’s are turning me off fast focusing on this junk that will never have any impact on my life.
Joe - We believe you when you say that you “don’t like Obama all that much” but are being “turned off fast” because Republicans aren’t focusing on the things that impact your life. We really do!
Posted 11 Sep 2008 at 11:00 am ¶This investigation was done way before Palin was put on McCain ticket. Obama has nothing to do with it. How can you be so stupid. You need to jump on the 3 Republicans who also want to talk with her. She is no angel you know. What she got to hide? Go talk to them. But make sure she do not tell another lie. It seem like she can lie her self out of anything. Her and McCain make a good couple. But that is what the Republican party is all about. Lies and more LIES.
