		<description>Tax-free employer paid benefits already acts as a tax because that money would have been in your paycheck.  If the government took money from your wages and used it to pay 50% of your health insurance premium, wouldn't you call that a tax?  That's all this supposed benefit is.

There are a lot of reasons that health care is expensive, but one of the biggest is this government-created scheme of tax exempt employer-funded health plans.

I'd prefer they eliminate the tax-free aspect of the benefit, allow me to opt out of the employer-based plan, receive higher wages, and give me that McCain tax exemption to go buy my own insurance on the individual market.

But that's just me.  I hate taxes and love money.</description>
