BLUE DOGS BITE OBAMACARE IN THE BUTT

It would appear that some House Democrats have begun worrying about how health care “reform” is going to affect them in next year’s election. So, they have thrown a spanner into the works of Obamacare:

The drive to remake the nation’s health care system suffered yet another setback in Congress on Thursday when a pivotal group of House Democrats demanded numerous changes in legislation the leadership was drafting.

These Democrats are ostensibly concerned about reining in costs, protecting small business, and preserving rural health care providers. But Ed Morrissey’s theory is more plausible:

Something has the Democrats feeling the heat.  Obama’s dropping poll numbers, especially among independents, have to have moderate Democrats worried about being seen as a rubber stamp for Obama’s big-spending policies.

These guys got elected based on their pledge to restore fiscal sanity to D.C.  And the taxpayers are becoming more and more irritated about the spending orgy in general and Obamacare in particular.

Thus, the “moderate” Dems are getting nervous. And well they should be. If they’re not careful, they could suffer a repeat of their 1994 debacle.

The more facts that come out on the “reform,” the more people realize it is just a shell game and will do nothing for the underlying issues. The Blue Dogs have realized that their constiutuents will throw them out on their ear if they pass this and will no longer jeoprodize their political future for the radical lwing that is controlling the Democratic party. It’s about time. Do you think we will hear about bi-partisan opposition to the radical governmental health insurance takeover? Neither do I.
