Four Blue Dog Democrats rolled over so that Henry Waxman could get health “reform” out of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. And, according to Reuters, the deal includes a public plan:
A key U.S. House of Representatives panel on Friday backed sweeping legislation overhauling the nation’s healthcare system that would allow for a public health insurance plan …
Michelle Malkin lists the toothless hounds who played dead for their master:
Blue Dogs Bart Gordon (Tenn.), Baron Hill (Ind.), Mike Ross (Ark.), and Zack Space (Ohio) vote(d) yes.
The committe vote was 31 to 28, so these mangy muts made the difference. One hopes they’ll get an earful when they go back home for the recess, and a defeat in 2010 would be even better.
