Allahpundit makes an interesting point:
If you hate ObamaCare and can spare the cash, send five bucks each to Bob McDonnell and Chris Christie … If Mc and C win, you get a more conservative health-care bill — and maybe even no bill at all.
McDonnell and Christie are, of course, the Republican candidates in the Virginia and New Jersey gubernatorial races. The idea is that, if they win, it’ll scare the hell out of the Blue Dogs.
Thus frightened, the theory goes, the curs in question will demand a more “moderate” bill or refuse outright to back Obamacare, in which case ”reform” goes down the tube.
Nice theory, but I’m not sure I buy it. Since Virginia is really a purple rather than a blue state, a win there won’t be a huge shock. And Christie is going to lose in New Jersey.
On the other hand, hope springs eternal in the human breast.
