That Obamacare was a factor in Tuesday’s Democrat drubbing is rendered blindingly obvious by the announcement, from Democrats whose internal polls surely told them what was coming, that Obamacare won’t pass this year.
Which means it may not ever pass. This contingency is precisely what Obama and congressional Dems wanted to avoid last summer when they kept pushing for quick passage of health care “reform” before the August recess.
Even if yesterday’s results in Virginia and New Jersey don’t kill Obamacare entirely, they will probably deep-six the public option. The moderate Democrats running for re-election next year in “purple” states will be worried by this.
They were already jumpy because of the outcry against Obamacare raised by the public during the August recess, and the clear displeasure that actual voters showed yesterday will make them even less inclined to vote for the PO.
My bet is that Obamacare is about to go the way of Hillarycare.
