Well, I told myself not to do another post on this, but I just couldn’t let this one pass. In the following passage, Sullivan attempts to justify his morbid obsession with Sarah Palin and her family:
Yes, some of this is funny, some weird, a lot tabloidy … but the fact that a person of no credentials and no transparency and no knowledge came that close to being president of this country, and that the system had no real way to expose it, and indeed enabled it and continues to enable it, is a deadly, deadly serious issue in a democratic republic.
This is a study in unintentional irony. Palin’s “credentials” are in many ways better than Sullivan’s main political squeeze, Barack Obama. And how can any Obama supporter talk about transparency with a straight face?
Sullivan gripes about Palin’s alleged lack of transparency concerning the birth of her last child, yet is silent as the tomb on the backroom deals that produced the House and Senate versions of Obamacare.
He calls Palin a liar on a daily basis while robotically supporting a President who prevaricates so much that, by comparison, Bill Clinton and his Machiavellian spouse seem as pure as the driven snow.
Sullivan would have us believe that his weird fascination with Palin is motivated by a desire to expose “the truth about this farce” so “it never, ever happens again.” What a load of self-righteous crap!
