Jeffrey S. Flier, Dean of the Harvard Medical School, gives the Democrat health care “reform” project a failing grade. Here’s what he says about its effect on costs:
In discussions with dozens of health-care leaders and economists, I find near unanimity of opinion that … the final legislation that will emerge from Congress will markedly accelerate national health-care spending rather than restrain it.
And, as for its effect on quality and the delivery mechanism, Demcare gets another F:
Likewise, nearly all agree that the legislation would do little or nothing to improve quality or change health-care’s dysfunctional delivery system.
Dr. Flier goes on to discuss the similarities between the congressional “reform” bills and the Massachusetts non-miracle, explaining how the latter turned into a fiscal disaster.
So, are the geniuses in Congress and at the White House paying attention to the good doctor? Nope. Instead, they are studying a blog post by the comically clueless Ron Brownstein.
No, really.
