It is becoming increasingly obvious that the Majority Leader of the United States Senate is making up health reform as he goes along. This is beginning to cause alarm, even among sympathetic observers like the WaPo:
The only thing more unsettling than watching legislative sausage being made is watching it being made on the fly … the last-minute introduction of this [Medicare expansion] idea within the broader context of health reform raises numerous questions …
One of the “numerous questions” it raises involves what precisiely is in the reform bill. Turns out that no one other than Harry Reid, not even the number-two Democrat in the Senate, knows the answer:
Senate Majority Whip Richard Durbin admitted Friday that he is “in the dark” about the national health care bill currently under construction by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
This is why fewer and fewer Americans support the Democrat reform project. At first, the public was enthusastic about health care ”change.” However, after watching the Dems make sausage for a year, not so much:

If you actually look at these polls David you’ll see that many Americans oppose the plan because – wait for it – it’s not radical enough, especially regarding dropping a public plan.
