He did his duty, compromised and "put on hold" most of his stances when Gore decided to become a far left wing nut instead of what he had always been. After losing the election, Joe took a long hot shower, got hosed off, and caked himself in lime to get the left wing loonie lice off himself. He was rewarded by losing his own party primary. His best friend ran against a radical lefty that even HE couldn't support, so he did the right thing again and stood by the candidate that was best for his country and not his party. If they had just ONE more Democrat they would have banished him already. It must be frustrating as hell to the tax and spenders in power that they NEED an honest moderate principled Democrat one more time.
