PALIN’S DEATH PANELS WIN “LIE OF THE YEAR”

PolitiFact, a transparently left-leaning outfit, has given its Lie of the Year award to Sarah Palin’s comments about Obamacare’s “death panels.” And, predictably, CNN is gleefully reporting it:

Only Palin wasn’t lying. President Obama and his congressional accomplices obviously believe in rationing and that is why their “porkulus” bill provided $1.1 billion to the Federal Coordinating Council for Effectiveness Research.

As I have explained in the American Spectator, this hive of apparatchiks is intended to operate like its European counterparts. It will assign a cash value to your life and deny care if you contract a malady whose treatment costs exceed that amount.

This very thing is happening right now in other countries with similar bureaucracies. In England, for example, the bureaucracy that puts a price on an average Brit’s head bears the Orwellian acronym “NICE.” It has killed a lot of people.

Palin created a firestorm of rage on the Left when she used the term “death Panels.” It wasn’t meant literally, of course, but they pretend it was so they can call her a liar. But they aren’t angry about a ”lie.” They’re angry because it’s true and she said so.
