TWAS THE DAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS

Twas the day before Christmas, and all through the house,
Not a creature was ill, not even my spouse.
Our coverage was good, we were getting good care,
And we hoped that the Dems would just leave it there.
But while we still nestled, snug in our beds,
Sweet visions of tax money danced in their heads.

From the floor of the Senate there rose a great clatter,
And I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to my laptop I flew like flash,
I took up my mouse and I clicked on the cache.
Harry Reid came up grinning, his face all aglow,
And the news he delivered was a dead heavy blow.

So, what to my wondering eyes did appear?
The Senate had brazenly turned a deaf ear
To the voters, the very people they represent,
Who have said they don’t want their money spent
On yet another boondoggle that goes nowhere,
Who have said they don’t want Obamacare.

Yet Reid put his thumb to the tip of his nose,
Sneered at the voters, and did as he chose.
“Here Landrieu, here Nelson, here Dodd and Baucus,
These bribes ought to quell any qualms in the caucus.”
But I heard someone say, mortified by this sight,
“Come next November, we’ll set this thing right.?

I think your term “bloggerel” has possibilities. I think I’m going to steal it and use it for category name.
