SAVORING THE SWEET SMELL OF FLOP SWEAT

On the eve of Scott Brown’s probable victory in the Massachusetts Senate race, I find the aroma of Democrat angst very agreeable. If that makes me a mean-spirited right-winger, so be it. These people have it coming, and the schadenfreude is sweet. Savor Olbermann’s rage:

In Scott Brown we have an irresponsible homophobic racist reactionary ex-nude-model tea-bagging supporter of violence against women and against politicians with whom he disagrees. In any other time in our history this man would have been laughed off the stage as an unqualified and disaster in the making by the most conservative of conservatives.

And enjoy Shuster’s cri de coeur:

Has Democratic-leaning Massachusetts lost its mind?!

And then there’s Sullivan’s lament for Obamacare:

Even if Coakley wins … the bill is dead. The most Obama can hope for is a minimalist alternative that simply mandates that insurance companies accept people with pre-existing conditions and are barred from ejecting patients when they feel like it. That’s all he can get now - and even that will be a stretch. The uninsured will even probably vote Republican next time in protest at Obama’s failure!

It doesn’t get much better than this.
