This is all the more devastating because it comes from the Left. Our progressive friends are very much disillusioned by “the One.” They are willing to accept lies, politial skulduggery, and even attacks on free expression. They are not, however, willing to accept failure.

I keep saying to myself but: never, in my wildest dreams, did I ever expect Obama to fall so far, so fast and to the point where his putative allies are now feasting on his entrails with some measure of glee that it’s enough to (almost) believe the USA is watched over by a benevolent power.
Posted 23 Jan 2010 at 4:06 pm ¶I’m with you. At the very least, recent events suggest that the system is (kinda) self-correcting and that the electorate isn’t completely non compos mentis.
As for his “allies,” they have no more loyalty than principle. Unless he can pull a rabbit out of his hat, Hillary wil snatch the 2012 Dem nomination out from under him.
