The President told an unusually large number of brazen whoppers (even for him) last night in his SOTU speech. Obama was particularly disingenuous on the subject of health reform:
Our approach would preserve the right of Americans who have insurance to keep their doctor and their plan.
Pure BS! His support of funding cuts for Medicare Advantage alone will force 10 million seniors off MA plans that they very much like. Another of Obama’s reform lies went thus:
It would reduce costs and premiums for millions of families and businesses.
More BS, of course. The fact is that coverage mandates included in both the House and Senate bills, and favored by Obama, will inevitably drive up premiums.
And those whoppers are but two of many he told last night. O’s genius for prevarication did not go unnoticed by Senator James Inhofe, who campared him to the all-time Champ:
I was thinking back during the first State of the Union Address by Bill Clinton and I thought, ‘This guy can say things that aren’t true with greater conviction than anyone I’ve ever seen.’ I honestly think that Obama is better.’

Nor has this facility for the smooth lie gone unnoticed by independent voters, among whom Obama now drops in popularity every time he uses words like hope.
