If you thought ABC’s anti-Palin jihad ended with the Gibson interview or the endless coverage of the phony “troopergate” scandal, think again. Today, they are breathlessly reporting the following non-story:
Sarah Palin has been using her political action committee to buy up thousands of copies of her book, “Going Rogue,� in order to mail copies of the memoir to her donors, newly filed campaign records show.
So, how many “thousands” are we talking here?
The former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate had her political organization spend more than $63,000 on what her reports describe as ‘books for fundraising donor fulfillment.’
Hmm … “donor fulfillment.” Sounds sinister, eh? And how many books will this princely sum of $63,000 buy? Well … er … fewer than 5,000 books. But wait … there’s more (maybe you’d better sit down):
Sarah PAC spent another $8,000 on colorful bookmarks designed by a Nashville-based event branding firm.
Colorful bookmarks? No she didn’t. Yes, she did! My God! Has this woman no shame? Next thing you know she’ll be giving donors PAC-paid-for beer koozies! Someone has got to STOP THIS WOMAN!!!!
Actually what needs to stop is MSM persecution of Palin. She is obviously giving the books away as tchotckes for people who donate money to her political action committee. And, as Ed Morrissey points out:
Making the book an incentive for larger donations is not only a no-brainer, it’s just about SOP with plenty of other politicians as well … including those still holding office.
Yep. This is a non-story if ever there was one. Nonetheless, the same ”news” media who ignore big-ticket Democrat corruption find this yawnfest worthy of an “investigative team.” What jerks.
