PALIN WILL GO TO REID’S HOME TOWN FOR TEA PARTY KICKOFF EVENT

Sarah Palin has a piece in USA Today, discussing why she’s going to the Tea Party convention in Nashville. She also says she’ll be taking the fight to enemy territory in March:

This weekend, it’s Nashville, but in March, I’ll head to Searchlight, Nev., for the kickoff rally at the Tea Party Express III.

Sweet! Meanwhile, the picture she paints of the Tea Party movement is very much at odds with what we’re getting from the Democrat-Media complex:

The soul of the Tea Party is the people who belong to it — everyday Americans who grow our food, run our small businesses, teach our children how to read, serve the less fortunate and fight our wars.

And she mentions a characteristic possessed by the Tea Partiers that is sadly missing inside the Beltway. They can’t be bought:

The spark of patriotic indignation … You can’t buy such a sentiment. You can’t AstroTurf it. It springs from love of country and the knowledge that we can make a difference if we just stand up and stand together.

When John McCain chose Sarah Palin as his running mate, I wrote a piece for the American Spectator about her willingness to buck Alaska’s health care establishment.

That willingness to fight the good fight, regardless of who is in the way and how much she is vilified, is precisely what animates the Tea Party movement. It is also why Palin is here to stay.
