PALIN REBUKES RUSH FOR HIS “R” WORD RANT

It wasn’t as devastating as her rebuke of Rahm Emanual, but Palin’s reaction made it clear that she was not amused by Rush Limbaugh’s riff on the “R” word. She offered the following comment via her spokesperson:

Governor Palin believes crude and demeaning name calling at the expense of others is disrespectful.

Here’s the money quote from Rush’s remarks:

Our political correct society is acting like some giant insult’s taken place by calling a bunch of people who are retards, ‘retards.’

Well, it is an insult, right? Limbaugh made matters worse by going on to describe Emanuel’s meeting with advocates for the mentally handicapped as a “retard summit.” Here’s the audio:

Not good. I mean, I get his point that Emanual’s observation about the nutroots was essentially accurate. But the riff on the “R” word was just too much. I have to say I’m with Sarah on this one.

UPDATE

Well, I guess I should have been suspicious about this one, considering that the source was a Washington Post blog. According to Palin’s spokesperson, Meg Stapleton, the statement quoted above was not directed specifically at Limbaugh.

This is why the WaPo and the rest of the bird cage liners are dying. They won’t play it straight.

I’m with you on this, however, you are using an old picture of Rush, like the liberals do. Heavy and unflattering.

That pic came with audio, and I considered not using it for that reason.

But, in the end, I decided that most people probably know he doesn’t look like that now.

It’s interesting, though, that “nonjudgmental” progressives insist on using those old shots.
