By now, everyone in the galaxy knows that Sarah Palin had a few crib notes written on her hand during her Tea Party speech in Nashville. How do do we know this? Because the media and the nutroots talked about little else for a solid week.
It would appear, however, that Palin is in good company where “palm reading” is concerned. In this video, taken during a 1990 debate, prominent Democrat (but not yet Senator) Diane Feinstein obviously has a few crib notes written on her left palm:
There is one VERY BIG difference between these two episodes, however. Feinstein was in a debate whose rules forbade such notes. She was, in other words, cheating. Thus, if Palin’s hand notes proved her “dumb,” then Feinstein’s notes prove her dumb AND dishonest.
So, this video has also been all over the airwaves, right? Nope. It has been ignored by the “news” media, except for Fox, and the nutroots have been silent. The Huffington Post only mentions the video in order to denounce Fox & Friends for having the temerity to show it:
Leave it to the crew at Fox & Friends to dig up 20-year-old video of a Democrat writing notes on her hand while covering Sarah Palin’s recent hand-note imbroglio.
Not a huge surprise, of course. Just another reminder that Palin doesn’t enjoy fair coverage from the Fourth Estate. They have one standard for Democrats like Feinstein and another, much higher standard for her. And yet Palin thrives. No wonder she drives them around the bend.
