If there is anyone out there dumb enough to believe Obama’s “reform” summit has anything to do with bipartisanship, a quick glance at the agenda will cause the scales to fall from your eyes. It starts with (surprise) a little oration from Obama:
The President will offer opening comments, followed by Republican and Democratic Members chosen by their colleagues.
After this initial round of bloviation, the empty posturing will focus on four main themes:
Controlling costs—introduced by the President
Insurance reforms—introduced by Sec. Sebelius
Reducing the deficit—introduced by the VP
Expanding coverage—introduced by the President
Anyone notice a pattern here? Every section of the agenda begins with a sermon from Obama, Sebelius or Biden (Yes, Biden). Talk about home cooking. Are the Republicans REALLY stupid enough to participate in this charade? Of course they are!
