MASSA’S “NO” VOTE ON OBAMACARE BEHIND DEM REDISCOVERY OF ETHICS

If you were wondering why the Democrat leadership (who took years to bring Charlie Rangel to book for his skulduggery) moved to so quickly to dump Eric Massa, the answer is Obamacare:

Massa voted against the House bill and his resignation means Speaker Pelosi needs one less vote to pass reform, dropping the number from 217 to 216.

This is precisely what Massa claims is behind Pelosi’s quick decision to toss him over the side:

Rep. Eric Massa (D-N.Y.) says … that he’s the victim of a power play by Democratic leaders who want him out of Congress because he’s a “no” vote on health care reform.

Exit question: Does anyone believe that Massa would have been forced to resign if he was a “Yes” vote for Obamacare?

UPDATE:

Massa is clearly VERY angry at the double-standard that has been applied to him by Pelosi, Obama, et al. And he’s hinting that he may rescind his resignation:

Rep. Eric Massa (D-N.Y.) suggested on a New York radio station Sunday that he could rescind his resignation after asserting that an ethics investigation … may have been orchestrated by Democratic leaders to get him out of office before the health care vote.

Meanwhile, having thrown Massa under the bus, the President is taking his Obamacare show on the road yet again. And, as Michelle Malkin points out, it’s a good opportunity to make some noise:

This is it, Tea Party people. This is the week for your on-the-ground mobilization to help drive a final nail into the Obamacare coffin. The perpetual campaigner-in-chief will be in Philadelphia today and St. Louis on Wednesday.

The thing is already dead, but it doesn’t hurt to drive another stake through its heart.

I’ve no doubt that it was the half-vast left-wing who ‘outed’ Massa’s extracuricular activities and proclivities. But make no mistake that Massa wanted a single-payer system. So I suppose I should thank them.

Personally, I think Massa’s ‘no’ votes were a calculated move to endear himself as a ‘maverick’ with moderates AND the media. I live in the Corning, NY, area where Massa lives. So I’ve been paying attention to him. He loves the limelight as much as Chuckie Schumer.

    I’m glad he’s gone.

One more thought… If, as Massa claims, his party is forcing him out, why won’t he stay and fight? Why did he cave so quickly and easily? If these charges are nothing more than what Massa calls ’salty language,’ then why did he quit so quickly?

If he doesn’t have the onions to stay and FIGHT, then he doesn’t deserve the office.

This will almost certainly be dismissed by the Dems and the MSM as yet another coincidence that the right is using as a “weapon of mass distraction.”

Well, I certainly agree that Massa is no paragon of virtue.

I also believe that Pelosi & Co. would be presenting him as just that if his vote had been a “Yes.”
