VIDEO: ASSISTANT TO THE SPEAKER ADMITS HOUSE DEMS WILL USE UNCONSTITUTIONAL SLAUGHTER RULE TO PASS OBAMACARE

Democrat Congressman Chris Van Hollen, Assistant to the Speaker of the House, admitted on Fox News Sunday that the Democrats will actually use the Slaughter Rule to pass Obamacare without requiring a House vote:

Let’s make it clear, we’re gonna have an up or down vote, whether it’s up or down for the Senate bill or up or down on a procedure that would include passage of the Senate bill:

If they do this, it goes beyond defying the public will. It is a clear violation of the Constitution (Article I, Section VII, Clause II), which says the following:

Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate shall, before it become a Law… be determined by Yeas and Nays, and the Names of the Persons voting for and against the Bill shall be entered on the Journal of each House respectively…

What Obama, Pelosi and Holland are planning to do would bypass an actual House vote, rendering it impossible to record the “names of the persons voting.” Why? Because they will not have voted on the bill.

These people are Fascists. And, if they attempt this, it will be in the Supreme Court the next day.

I very much doubt that this will come to pass, precisely because the Supreme Court will kill it dead. (Although I must admit (in a very morbid way) it would be interesting to see where the typical liberals on the court would side on this one: how badly do you think Ginsberg et al would contort themselves to make this Constitutional…in their dissent, of course.)
