A new meme has emerged from Capitol Hill and enthusiastically picked up by the “news� media—–violent and dangerous Tea Party types are making threats to Democrats who voted for Obamacare.
That the evidence for ACTUAL threats and ACTUAL violence involves acts perpetrated by “progressives” against Republicans has little meaning for these people. What they’re looking for is a way to avoid their constituents:
Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) canceled a town hall on the new healthcare law Tuesday because of concerns about the security of the event … The cancelation comes a week after many lawmakers received threats because of their votes on the healthcare measure.
Ryan claims to have received such a threat himself:
According to the Warren Tribune Chronicle, a threatening letter was mailed to Ryan after he voted in favor of the healthcare reform bill a week and a half ago.
Predictably, there doesn’t seem to be any actual evidence to support this claim. This is a put up job if ever there was one. The Democrats and the MSM get a “twofer” on this meme. They can discredit their opponents and avoid their constituents:
For a Democrat, that as good as it gets.
