IRS TO CONFISCATE YOUR TAX REFUND IF YOU FAIL TO BUY HEALTH INSURANCE

There has been a lot of commentary in the media concerning whether the Internal Revenue Service  has the necessary resources to enforce Obamacare’s individual insurance mandate. But the IRS Commissioner says he can handle it:

Obamacare requires you to report your insurance status on your tax forms, and it calls for the IRS to levy a fine if you haven’t bought a government-approved plan. But the Commissioner says there’s no need to send G-Men to your door:

Shulman told reporters that the most likely way to penalize individuals that don’t comply is by reducing or confiscating their tax refunds.

And Commissar Commissioner Shulman believes that most of Obama’s subjects the voters know what’s good for us. He’s confident that we will voluntarily obey the new imperial decree mandate to buy government-approved health insurance.

The commissioner seemed confident that in most cases individuals would …  simply do so on their own in order to comply with the law.

I’m sure he’s right. Unlike Shulman’s boss, admitted tax cheat Timothy Geithner, most Americans file honest tax returns and attempt to obey the law.  And, as hard as it is to believe, it is now against the law not to buy health insurance.
