REID GETS COLD SHOULDER AT HOME

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is up for election again this year, so he has been forced to go back to Nevada and face his consitutents. The experience has not been pleasant:

Though powerful in Washington, Reid is, to put it simply, widely despised back home.

Voter hostility confronts Reid everywhere he goes:

At a Fernley pizza parlor, Robert Diffenderfer, 73, a veteran and biker, simply refused to shake the senator’s extended hand …

Angry voters heckle him from the roadside as his bus passes:

Elsewhere along the route, small bands of protesters held mocking signs. One dubbed the campaign trip the ‘throw Nevada under the bus tour.’

And it’s not just those evil, knuckle-dragging Republicans:

Even among Nevada Democrats, about a quarter are either undecided or supporting the Republican candidate … Some moderate Democrats say he’s moved too far left.

Meanwhile, independents view Reid as just another Beltway hack:

Reid engineered the Cornhusker Kickback and other deals during the health care debate and makes no apologies.

And, as if to demonstrate how out of touch he is with the voters:

Reid grows quiet as he struggles to answer the obvious questions: Why is he so unpopular in Nevada?

Ah … Senator, the voters are telling you loud and clear: You’ve put Washington before Nevada. You’ve moved too far to the left. You’re a Beltway hack. You’ve ignored the voters. That’s why you’re unpopular, dude.

And that’s why you’re getting fired in November.
