VIDEO: THE GEICO GECKO STRIKES BACK

A couple of days ago, a voice-over actor named D.C. Douglas announced that he had been fired by Geico because of a creepy message he had left on the FreedomWorks voicemail system. Among other things, he asked what percentage of that organization’s staff were “mentally retarded.â€?

Well, it would appear that Mr. Douglas wasn’t just having a bad day when he made his weird call. I mean, he had not merely skipped his meds or something. As the following video demonstrates, the call was an accurate indicator of his hopelessly distorted and bitter world view:

As I pointed out the other day, Douglas possesses a gift for unintentional irony. He apparently thinks that his video montage of Tea Party infiltrators and alleged voice-mails (one wonders how many of these were made by Douglas himself) vindicates him. It is, instead, a self-indictment.

Like most “progressives,” Douglas needs to see himself as morally superior to anyone with temerity to disagree with him. Douglas and his ilk have such a huge psychological investment in this proposition that they are utterly incapable of seeing how narrow-minded and hateful they have become.

You’re really claiming that liberals are in “a close contest” with these people:

    That is insane.

As to the video in the post: Weak sauce. He couldn’t even muster up a death threat.
