The latest Kaiser Health Tracking Poll shows that attempts by the White House to sell Obamacare’s “immediate benefits” are falling on deaf ears. In fact, the number of people who disapprove of ”reform” has increased since the Obama administration decided to speed up implementation of this boondoggle.
In April, 40% of respondents disapproved of Obamacare. By May that number had increased to 44%. The number with a “very unfavorable” view increased from 10 to 12%. Even more telling is the decline in the number who have “very favorable” views of the bill. From April to May, that percentage dropped from 23% to 14%.
Actually, this paints an unrealistically rosy picture. This survey was not of likely voters, or even registered voters. Kaiser surveyed anyone bored enough to talk to them. Because the general public is more favorably disposed to the nanny state than actual voters, this poll is structurally biased in favor of Obamacare.
And, if you subtract the 14% who wouldn’t answer, it looks even worse for the White House effort to pimp Obamacare. Of the people who gave actual answers, the percentage with unfavorable opinions went from 47% to 51%. So, even among the general public, a majority disapproves of Obamacare.
So, maybe the public isn’t as dumb as the President and his co-conspirators think. I guess we’ll find out in November.
