This is good news for the good guys. The Dems are faced with a deadly combination of generic ballot numbers that mirror those of 1994, just before the GOP took Congress, and a growing Republican advantage in the enthusiasm gap:
Republicans continue to hold the upper hand in voting enthusiasm, with 46% saying they are very enthusiastic about voting, compared with 24% of Democrats.
How does the GOP advantage look, relative to past performance?
That 22-point gap is the largest Gallup has measured for Republicans over Democrats in any week this election year to date.
