HOUSE GOP FIRES FIRST SHOT OF OBAMACARE REPEAL BATTLE

This evening, House Republicans forced a vote on a ”motion to recommit” that would have killed the most controversial feature of Obamacare—-the individual mandate requiring all Americans to buy insurance. Obviously, the overwhelming Democrat majority in the House guaranteed its failure:

A Republican effort to repeal the individual mandate in the Democrats’ health care overhaul failed Tuesday afternoon on a largely partisan vote.

But this is a good sign. The GOP has finally awakened from its slumber on this issue. The point was to make the Dems once again vote for a law that is becoming more and more unpopular every day:

Republicans wanted to get Democrats on the record once again saying they back a law that requires uninsured Americans to purchase health insurance.

Unless I miss my guess, they will make the Dems vote for Obamacare (or some provision thereof) over and over again between now and November. Then, they’ll publish the names of those who keep voting in favor of this abomination. Here’s the roll call for today’s vote (via Michelle Malkin).
