Remember when Nancy Pelosi told us that Obamacare was going to create 400,000 jobs almost immediately? This, coming from the woman who thinks unemployment checks create jobs, does not inspire confidence.
The Beacon Hill Institute, on the other hand, employs people who understand basic economics. So, in an economy characterized by the disappearance of 8 million jobs, it’s time to revisit their analysis showing Obamacare to be a job killer:
Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, [urged] passage of the massive health reform plan moving through Congress as a way to create up to 400,000 jobs … PPACA is a job killer, not a job creator … we find that the bill [will] destroy a total of 120,000 to 700,000 jobs by 2019, a far cry from the number suggested by leading advocates.
This is just what we need right now, eh? As more and more news outlets are now admitting, we are not in a recovery. We are not even lucky enough to be in a mere recession. We are sliding into another depression.
The Lefties say it’s Bush’s fault, even though that sounds more and more ridiculous every day. But regardless of who is at fault, a big honking job killer like Obamacare is not precisely what the doctor ordered, is it?
