NEW DEM TALKING POINTS ON OBAMACARE: DON’T MENTION COST OR DEFICIT!

Remember all that BS we heard from the President and his congressional accomplices about how Obamacare was going to bend the cost curve down and reduce the federal deficit? Well, it would appear that our progressive friends have decided to abandon that preposterous meme:

Key White House allies are dramatically shifting their attempts to defend health care legislation, abandoning claims that it will reduce costs and deficit …

A lefty outfit called the Herndon Alliance, using data gathered by high-profile Democrat pollsters, is advising its clients to steer clear of the usual whoppers:

The messaging shift was circulated this afternoon on a conference call and PowerPoint presentation organized by Families USA …

The last slide of the Powerpoint advises the Dems and their allies what NOT to talk about when conversing with those pesky voters. In addition to avoiding the cost and deficit issues, it warns them to stay away from discussion of benefits, except in terms of cheesy personal (and no doubt fictional) anecdotes:

You will also note that the Dems and their shills are admonished not to use “complex language.” In other words, these people assume their listeners will be brain-dead morons. But the real problem is the opposite. The public is wise to them, and the day of reckoning is drawing nigh.

This is a lame attempt at damage control: if things have already gone this far sideways, they’d be better off not talking to the public at all as it’ll only open them up to plenty of YouTube moments.
