The cowardice of the Democrats on this issue is truly something to behold. The only Dem with the courage of his convictions is Anthony Weiner. The rest are heading for the tall grass, including this schmuck:
As the West Virginia Senate race looks increasingly competitive, Democratic candidate Gov. Joe Manchin is walking back his support for President Obama’s health care overhaul.
He supported it before it was passed:
Days before the bill was passed in March, Manchin told the National Governors Association that he would vote for the health care bill if he were a congressman.
But now he’s had a death bed conversion:
I don’t believe in the way this bill was passed … Why they overreached, I don’t know.
Well, Governor, here’s a hint: They “overreached” because they are just like you. They are power hungry, arrogant opportunists who thought they could get away with thumbing their noses at the voters.
Manchin had been expected to waltz into Robert Byrd’s old Senate seat without breaking a sweat. But a funny thing happened on the way to November. The voters, it seems, have an actual memory.
So, now Manchin is having second thoughts about “the way this bill was passed.”
