Whether the GOP wins back a majority in the House of Representatives or not, it will be sweet to watch all those phony “blue dog” Democrats go down in flames next Tuesday:
Of the eight who flipped their votes to support the bill, two announced their retirement (Bart Gordon and Brian Baird) and five others are in tough races.
It will be particularly pleasant to watch Bart Stupak’s accomplices bite the dust:
House Democrats who gave the decisive margin at the end, the so-called Stupak bloc … read like a who’s who of the most at-risk Democrats.
Stupak retired to avoid facing his constituents, of course, but the others ran again:
Reps. Kathy Dahlkemper, D-Pa., and Steve Driehaus, D-Ohio, were among the first two to be cut off from national party money to help their campaigns, and Reps. Joe Donnelly, D-Ind., and Christopher Carney, D-Pa., are not in much better shape. Rep. Alan Mollohan, D-W.V., was one of four members to lose a primary.
In other words, most of the “anti-abortion” Dems who flipped at the last minute in exchange for a Presidential autograph on meaningless executive order are pretty much doomed.
As we say in the South, I just hate it for ‘em.
