Our (less and less) esteemed President has told so many stretchers that it is difficult to decide which qualifies as his most brazen lie. But Byron York thinks that, once the smoke has cleared, it will be the following:
No matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise to the American people. If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what.
That this was patently untrue was obvious to many of us long before ObamaCare was passed, but now even the most robotic Obama supporters have begun to see through this preposterous claim.
Between 7 and 10 million seniors will be kicked off their Medicare Advantage plans and countless employers have announced that they will stop providing workers with health coverage.
The latter situation has become so serious in the aggregate that the White House has been forced to issue a blizzard of ObamaCare waivers just to keep the coverage system from collapsing.
This is what happens when large numbers of Americans are tricked into believing that the government can meddle in health care without creating all manner of unintended consequences.
It is also a result of electing a pathological liar to the presidency.
