OBAMACARE REPEAL: GOP HAS ANOTHER LUCY-AND-THE-FOOTBALL MOMENT

I would like to believe that this report from Bloomberg is untrue, but I’m afraid that it’s all too easy to imagine the Republicans getting suckered yet again in a Dem-MSM Lucy-and-the-football trick.

We have seen no evidence from any source that Jared Loughner was influenced by political rhetoric about ObamaCare or anything else. Nonetheless, the GOP has apparently decided to “temper” its tone:

House Speaker John Boehner’s spokesman said yesterday the Ohio Republican’s priority is to keep the discourse steady and civil.

Even the public sees through the the “vitriolic rhetoric” meme. 57% of Americans, including a purality of Dems, understand there’s no connection between our political discourse and the AZ shootings. But not the GOP:

‘This terrible tragedy requires that congressional leaders act in a responsible, nonpartisan way on behalf of members, staff, the institution, and most of all, the American people,’ said Boehner spokesman Michael Steel.

Sigh … I guess this is why the GOP is known as the “stupid party.”

Madness. What this nut did has nothing to do w/coarse language or anything of the sort. The only question I have is: are the Republicans really this stupid or do they think *we’re* really that stupid?
