This is absolutely incredible. There was shock when we learned that the total was 111. There was outrage when the total hit 222. Now, it’s 729. The HHS website where the approved waivers are listed can be found here.
When you read the list, you will notice that these “new” waivers were approved last year. Why weren’t they posted then? John Sexton believes the postings were delayed until after the President’s SOTU address:
I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to suggest that OCIIO was asked to hold this development until after the SOTU. Indeed the latest waiver approved in the list is from December 30th.
Nah … I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that more than 500 waivers were posted the morning after the Obama’s big speech. Well, as Michelle Malkin points out, this will certainly be of interest to Fred Upton, et al:
