Yep. You read that correctly. The entire state of Maine has been awarded an ObamaCare waiver by Health and Human Services. And unlike the other thousand waivers HHS has handed out, this lasts for 3 years (see page 2):
The federal government Tuesday granted Maine a waiver of a key provision in President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul …
Why? Because ObamaCare will do precisely what its critics said it would do:
[HHS cited] the likelihood that enforcement could destabilize the state’s market for individual health insurance.
Maine is the first state to get a waiver, but it probably won’t be the last:
The decision makes Maine the first state to receive a waiver of the requirement. Similar requests are pending from Kentucky, Nevada and New Hampshire.
Think about it for a minute. They will be giving entire states exemptions from ObamaCare. Can there be any better indicator that this ridiculous Rube Goldberg contraption needs to be scrapped?
