This is why the GOP is called the “stupid party.” These people have a major learning disability. The voters who put John Boehner and Eric Cantor in charge of the House want ObamaCare defunded. But these boneheads are going to allow $105 billion in ObamaCare funding to remain the upcoming continuing resolution:
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said on Monday that the new continuing resolution the House will consider this week to keep the federal government funded will permit the Obama administration to spend money on the implementation of Obamacare.
Reps. Michele Bachmann and Steve King have been raising hell about this since last week. Last Thursday, they sent a letter to Cantor and Boehner asking them to prohibit spending any money to implement Obamacare. And get a load of the GOP “leadership’s” excuse for leaving the funding in place:
What we’ve said earlier is that we are operating consistent with House rules, which in this CR means discretionary funding for this year.
House rules? Are you kidding me? The real problem, of course, is that Speaker Boehner and Majority Leader Cantor are loathe to cut out the ObamaCare funding because the President won’t sign it and they’re afraid they’ll be blamed for a government shutdown:
If the House approves a CR that defunds Obamacare, and the Democratic majority Senate and President Obama oppose that CR, they would need to be willing to shut down the government to prevent it from becoming law.
With Republicans like this, who needs Democrats?
